Scorchers
"I was born and bred in the Sea of Blood and Hatred."
In the ever dark, gloomy skies of Tirisfal Glades,
Bellows a voice, a calling,
To those dead, and yet walking,
To the earth, to the graves.
Swallowed by the mystic smog, by the fog,
Of the Dark Lady's plains,
Lies a town, blurred by deeds,
Grim and grimer than the man, who's words everyone heeds.
A resilient mind, a steel fist of fury,
Discipline, respect, patience, duty,
Those are the virtues,
The four Rules of the Ruler.
The ruler, the tyrant,
The twisted Baron of Brill,
Who's men and women are rampant,
Living and dying for him, to murder, to kill.
"In His name, and in my presence, the skies themselves will turn crimson."
The Baron's men slay dozens,
Nay, hundreds of foes to this day,
But the voices of madness, of a greater purpose,
Wish for a bloodier, more inhumane way.
Even the strongest will,
Succumbs to the words, to the whispers of the unknown,
And so did he, the wretched Baron,
Ilron Dreadfist, of Brill.
He twitched, and he grunted,
Swelling with hate,
Resisting the luring conundrums,
Before it's too late.
The man called a town meeting,
Bringing forth those, for a mass meating,
Where one would reach new heights in power and insanity,
Or face their Final Rest in a form of eternal death, a dreadful calamity.
"Thus I pledge my undeath, for the sake of endless bloodshed. "
And so with a wave of vigour, of confidence,
He ordered his people to march,
To the unforgiving Frozen Wastes,
Showing courage and competence.
From these Lands of the Cold,
Few return, well and whole,
Having dug themselves a hole,
Entombed and forgotten in the snow, with their foolishness bold.
Yet the Baron demands,
That his men wield nothing,
At all, with their putrid hands,
As they venture to a definite oblivion.
As if his wishes wouldn't stop to grow,
Dreadfist's given task is to best a blackwing drake,
Then bring back the scales and teeth for their own sake,
For a future gift, that he would bestow.
"Through flames and fire, I deliver death. "
To noones surprise,
Most warriors found their demise,
In the flames and furious fires,
Of black drakes, becoming ash, from living pyres.
Yet there were few, very few,
That were mad and insane to an extent,
From which no man could repent,
Ripping the drakes' jaws, with their claws.
These warriors - men and women craving for gore,
Let loose their rage and brutal power with a deafening roar,
Returning with their hard-earned trophies,
Having cheated death, and saved their last lifeless breath.
The chosen warriors that undergo this trial,
Are known as Scorchers,
Slaughtering, pillaging, raving,
Their self-control swiftly withering.
The Scorcher is entombed within his or her armour, for an eternity, or to be more precise, until it's destroyed, which in most cases means that the armour's wearer is as well, as upon a devastating impact, the warrior's gear will combust with a fiery explosion. To become what they are in the field of battle, the berserkers must go through an extensive surgery so that their spine wouldn't be crooked and their brains would be removed of any feeling of fear or danger. In addition, several tubes are applied, through which several kinds of liquid contents are pumped into the body to alter muscle flexibility, the person's psychological stimulus as well as hold a device connecting the body parts with various complex gadgets installed throughout the entire body and armour. The essence of tar is said to be applied within their gear shortly before battles to set themselves on daemonic fire, otherwise the flames would wear out during a fight, making the warrior nearly twice less as efficient. Warlocks, enchanters, engineers, blacksmiths and magi, all work to perfect and improve the Scorcher's armour, however there are times when those responsible for the creation of their gear become too confident and enthusiastic and make errors, such as a warlock overstressing his unholy powers, making a daemonic soul that would possess the wearer at the tip of their trance of fury. The outer appearance of a Scorcher may greatly differ among others of his kind, but the scales of a black drake and its' sharpened, "sculpted" teeth attached to their heavy plate armour, are essential. The weapons a Scorcher wields, are his own choice of preference, as long as it's dual-wielding one-handed weapons. The most recent members of these berserkers use the decapitated heads of their foes that they bring after bloody battles, as vessels for tainted, demonic souls that imbue the skulls with fire. These heads, or otherwise rotting(or even empty) skullsfunction as fire bombs that explode on impact. These berserkers are known for their spite, hatred, sheer madness and no remorse or pity. They speak little more than praises to slaughter and the Baron, as well as rave about anything related to gore and killing when fighting. The most common lines these berserkers spout are "Bloodshed for the Baron!!", "Fire consume you!!", "Slaughter!! Ravage!! Reap!! Kill!!", "Flesh and bones!! Ready for hacking!!". The Scorchers rush forward with maniacal laughter as immolated, relentless, reckless monstrosities. Zealously loyal to their Baron, they are a part of the Maggotkin community, and will commit any deed ordered, no matter how vile.

Town of the Old Kingdom: Force Unleashed
How should I start? Well, it's Summer, and two thirds of its' time have already passed. I'd say it's rather evident, that this time of the year, people focus their passtime activities to rest, relax in ways and lengthy periods of time that they couldn't any other season, which leads me to the point being - see server, everyone gone, wat do?
Most issues revolve around that. More or less, anyway, but there's enough people gone, that the circumstances put recruitment efficiency, guild activities and member activity in a cruel, unforgiving environment, where only the most strong-willed survive. But that's what we do - we live, and fight the odds to survive. Damn straight, it takes growing a pair, eating challenges for breakfast, catastrophies for dinner and drama for supper, to last, as a guild, for years.
Few people(if any), that spend their holidays like me, stuck to their computer screen these last months, don't seem to realise and appreciate the work we've put into expanding the variety of RP hubs in the server with a unique, untraditional kind of undead folk. Some, out of jealousy(or childhood issues) tried to ruin the reputation, pride and motivation that we earned through blood and sweat. But -they failed-.
I bet you're thinking "Lolwat, are you blind? The number of active members pales in comparison to what we had before! The guild's in ruins!". Well, I'll tell you guys what - people with that kind of attitude didn't make it long enough to witness our glory. The glory built out of hope and effort combined! We don't lower outselves, and kneel before jerks and halfwits, and if they think they can toy with us to their heart's desire, they're wrong. Oh, so very wrong... they teased a lion from outside the cage, but now the lion's free. This lion, dear friends, represents the blazing motivation they awoke in me, and it's going to tear through the server like a knife through butter. If you join me in this rise, guildies, the effort we put in, will overwhelm our rivals, and the brainwashed server community. By dedicating a lot of time and work into the guild, we will prove to these heretics, that we're not ones to hide under pressure. Let us gather, roleplay, organise and be creative! Can you feel it? No, yes? Either way, you will... -I- do. And I -know- that this isn't a dream, or a wish... this is reality, because you see me, writing an article like this. And that's not it. No. It's only a call, for everyone to join me in what's already beginning. A force unleashed. Let us gather, roleplay, organise and be creative! It's time we show everyone, that we have been, are, and will be a guild the server should be proud of!

Hey, hey, hey, kids! Do you know what time it is? ... yeah, me neither. Speaking of kids, however, Childrens' Week starts on May 2nd, so go and buy yourselves a trenchcoat and get ready to lure children out of their orphanges, to your van just around the corner!
Oh, sorry, I got ahead myself there. Let's just limit ourselves by eating them or using them as slaves. Speaking of slaves, I'm proud to announce that we currently have over eighty zombie laborers under control, and even though they're not as efficient as we'd like them to be, but they sure are expendable. No actual cultivation has happened as of yet, though the fields are in the proccess of being hoed(not in the dirty way, you sick bastards). The brainwashed corpses all over Tirisfal Glades have been given certain tools for their work, such as pitchforks, hoes(oh, shut up), mattocks, pickaxes etc. 30% of the "controled" zombies tend grind their claws or faces, however, but our mages and engineers are working hard to not only show what a Forsaken mind is capable of, regarding mental will and power by "adjusting" the laborers we already have and expanding their numbers throughout the entire region using both magic and technology, such as...
...advanced brain chips empowered with arcane. We're short on supplies for these lately, and that's exactly why a certain number of our slaves cannot be "chained and forced"(I went there) as easily as required to suffice our standards. The closest example as to how it works, is the arcane guardians patrolling Silvermoon. There's quite the difference, though - zombies, even though enhanced by technology, are beings of flesh and prove to be more flexible than those creations of Blood Elves. Secondly, their functions do not involve defending from or attacking hostiles. We limit their intelligence in order to avoid any possibilities of the program's malfunction to mistake us for hostiles and cause unneccesary trouble. We do plan, however, installing self-destruction triggers in case of critical errors if we're going to widen the range of our laborers' functions.
Kudos to a friend of mine for the artwork.
You're probably thinking: "Why would the undead even -think- about cultivation?". Well, we're not exactly putting effort into this to grow and produce something edible. What we're(especially the apothecaries) after, is experimental activity, such as testing shrooms used as potential material in concocting potions, elixirs and fluids to give us a good kick forward so that we would be in advantage in battles, as well as, of course, give us countless opportunities to rise to new heights both as a town and a community that may very well influence more than just our own race. If you're in doubt of the Forsaken potential regarding science - here's what the lore states:
Among the Horde, Forsaken have perhaps the deepest understanding of the workings of science. However, they reject technology as anything more than a curiosity or a simple tool. Creatures of the dark arts, they are more interested in studying and controlling those arts than they are in learning about something that to them remains alien. Still, a few undead delve into the new sciences, employing technology where it serves their own ends. These dabblers create items that employ necromantic power in ways that arcane or divine magic cannot. A perfect example of this is the necromantic amplifier. Like many other Forsaken technologies, it combines science and dark magic into a single package. For this reason, some Forsaken technological items have crafting requirements other than scientific ones. Forsaken inventions include the aura concealment suit, energy polarizer, and the aforementioned necromantic amplifier.
While the Royal Apothecary Society has proved itself worthy of the shock it gives to all of Azeroth, Brill's apothecaries are just as dedicated, with the firm hand of our engineers helping(they might seem as a rarity among the Forsaken, but our town has enough of them to keep up the pace of the Baron's demands).
Now that I mentioned the Baron, I might as well get deeper into the troubles that concern both him and his people(that means you).
Starting with In-Character stuff:
The capability to commit mass homicide does not give one the ability to do it everywhere at the same time, thus this is where the Military(Militia + Maggotkin(Read: "Brill is back!")) takes place. Where? The borders of Tirisfal Glades, Silverpine Forest, Ruins of Lordaeron and Hillsbrad Foothills. We have deathstalkers scouting everywhere, of course, but I'm talking about something a lot more serious. Full-scale raids, that would wipe the areas clean like the unstoppable force of a hurricane. It's what the Baron aims for and he's destined to tear flesh and souls alike to achieve it. Squads of Deathguards will be sent shortly, led either by the Baron himself or a lieutenant/general. We should be aware, that while we focus on preparing for the battles themselves, we also have to keep an eye out for any intruders in our own territory, and hunt them down, stomp them like little critters - we can't let some dimwits manifest and roam around Forsaken lands. To make sure you don't fall to your foe and kill like a proper Brillian, you will be instructed on specific fighting techniques with a variety of weapons that our restless blacksmiths are crafting day and night. Make their effort worthwhile.
Aside from the military issues, there's trouble in the town itself. Apparently a bundle of our wood stock for the meatwagons just by the stables, have been gone. Stolen, likely. Who and how, I have no clue, but the fact is that their number has reduced and our guards have been slacking. And as if that wasn't enough, we have reports that the gnoll graverobbers still manage to steal our dead along with their belongings. The Scourge up in the Agamand Mills, even though weakened after the Lich King's replacement, have gone feral, and regretably beyond control, so we can only expect danger from that direction anytime soon. And knowing that our resources haven't been guarded well lately, we risk having even worse casualties.
But enough about failures - achievements need credit too!
From an Out-Of-Character perspective:
The guild's been doing well lately and I commend you lot on that, but it would do even better with advertising not only in RP, but as well in General, Guild Recruitment and LFRP channels. Never forget, that while we don't care for constant recruiting, other guilds get the chance to grab them and mostly do(and then spout some propaganda of how much of a failure guild we are). None of us want to see more traitors around ourselves, so let's pull all those wandering undead to our side and by all means, just build up our guild, for as they say...
...well, you get what I mean, anyway. Another thing I'd like to point out, is something that has likely bothered us all lately, some less, some more(others probably don't care at all), but it's worth mentioning - the new tabard design. I guess I'm personally fine with it, but it may be temporary, as I'm not going to fit the same gear that just coincidentaly fits the tabard forever. The older design seemed adaptable to any kind of gear, but hey, that's my opinion. You can all share yours when I make a poll A.S.A.P. about it for you to vote on.
And the last few things that need mentioning, are our voice chat channel(BrillVC) and upcoming events that are getting nearer and nearer with each minute. Our voice chat channel hasn't been used for its' purpose for quite a while lately, so I highly encourage everyone to make use of it, if you have a microphone(I'll try to show example). From Friday to Sunday in the evenings is the most recommended and convenient time to try and have a conversation. If you like, you can always advertise the channel to your friends, but make sure you don't invite anyone that would try and troll the channel or abuse the moderator/owner rights were they so lucky to get them. I almost forgot to mention another channel that was just recently made with my initiative, and I really think it's worth the effort and time to build up. It's called "Forsaken" and is meant for organised undead RP as well as gathering all those forsaken roleplayers from the shadows, since as we all know it, they are around, but never jump into spotlight.
I'll draw a line for the article with what interests Brill's members most these days, and that's our events. May 1st(a Saturday), we're hosting a "Quest Day" - an event where every Brill member hangs around in Brill being NPC-ish and giving the town's visitors quests as well as real item/money rewards for their success. Another event in store, is "In Memoriam", which concerns commemorating our characters' dead relatives and friends that might have died from an unfortunate fate, such as being striken down with a sword or dying from the plague. And, of course, there's "Southshore Siege II" - a day when we send a full-scale siege on the harbor-like town of Southshore, for which we're preparing very hard every day and are anxiously waiting. That place is going down either by us or by a flood, but we better not give them the chance to evacuate either way and kill every child, man and woman we can in the most brutal way and make sure no witnesses escape, because if they do, the news hit Stormwind like lightning and put us all into disadvantage for further attacks and expansions.
There's more events that will take place before the siege, but we'll get around to discussing them after In Memoriam is done. In Memoriam does not have a set date, but it will after Quest Day is finished(I'm sure you've figured how our schedules work already). I'll possibly explain the events in further detail in other articles or in-game, but for now, that's it.
Bloodshed for the Baron! -
Blood Sport
Every week, the goblin-run gladiatorial arenas spill blood in the pursuit of gold. Every couple of years, brutal pit-fighters gather in the Gurubashi Arena to prove their worth as the Strongest of the Horde. Legends are made as the best combatants of the Horde do battle for honor, glory and the massive sum of gold that goes to he or she that can win the title.
Blood Sport... you know, that reminds me of someth-
-...ing. Oh snap. There's little to no difference between the roman arena and The Strongest of the Horde, but we can all agree that that's exactly what they aimed for, and that chest that magicaly appears out of nowhere, really stirs the crowd up, giving them a chance to see the fortunes that lie within! The next thing you know, shit hits the fan - a drunk kangaroo pops up behind you as soon as you touch the glimmering box of goodies, and beats you up like you owe it money. Well, yes, that never happened and wouldn't, but it'd be an amusing sight to say the least.

The organisers really sticked with simplicity of an arena with its' usual rules which is good, because simple things tend to be the best and the amount of people that have attended each time the event had been hosted, proved that it's well worth coming to. For the shiney bling blings, anyway! So the next time you feel like bashing someones face AND getting paid for it(I'm talking over nine thousand gold here) - pay a visit to the traditionaly-yearly S.O.T.H.

Hello there, wretches! Some of you might have known that for a period of time, a large number of members had gone inactive and people were all disappointed, in a miserable state. But lately, everything has gone upside down - there are events, there is motivation, active people, MORE people and, of course - roleplay, which only once again proves that we are worth our well-earned reputation throughout the years. Did I mention that our guild profile on the Argent Archives has over 7700 views?

Having that said, there is no sense in stopping now - if not as a town, then atleast as a territory, Brill stretches far and wide throughout the entire Tirisfal Glades - as I speak, our troops are advancing all around Tirisfal Glades and spreading into the Silverpine Forest, cleansing their way off living and dead foes alike. With the will of the Forsaken, we will defend this territory with bone and claw, and thrust our banners with confidence and pride as we continue to strive for the divine perfection!
The drums of War thunder once again... so heed my word, cursed brothers and sisters! Let us show them the true meaning of pain! The meaning of fear, havoc and destruction! Let us rip the flesh from their bones! Glory to the Forsaken!

Last year, Cult of the Raptor and Brill sided together for an epic event. And epic it was, for it lasted over five and a half hours - everyone cheered throughout the whole thing and showed obvious signs of enjoyment. This year, we're repeating the tradition, though this time it's not Cult of the Raptor, but The Royal Apothecary Society that will work with us. It is a great guild that we've had quite a few ocassional RP moments with(they also rent the lab in Brill). Though, back to the point! This event we'll be having, requires a lot of preparations, as both guilds have to take up certain responcibilities and make the best of what they've planned. Here's a letter I recieved from Adnaw just yesterday, to give you a general idea of what's going on:
We'll try to keep the schedule similiar to last year's, though, ofcourse, some things will be changed. As Churchill once said "To improve is to change. To be perfect is to change a lot.". We'll improve by the very least. Now... what I'd like you guys to do, is try and make use of the days Brewfest lasts, by getting enough whatever-you-need to buy the Pony Keg. I'd like those to be used at the Grand Banquet. I'll be pointing out in-game who carries around food/drinks as times goes, so stay active and we'll keep in touch."Hey Ilron sorry I have been away. Here is last years schedule. I will take care of advertising. I assume Brill tavern will be running the banquet again, let me know if you need food or booze for that. I have lots left over from IHOM. Also this year it will not be Delphinium that is going to co-host with you but my old Forsaken Karlotta . So this event will be a team up of Brill and the Royal Apothecary Society . What would you like to have your guild donate in this year towards a prize for the costume contest? Would you like to ost a story telling competion again in Bril after like you did last year? Tsath is willing to write a play if Tzurkir is unable to do so. We will need some actors, so look into if anyone from your guild might be interested.
Schedule of Events:
- 19:00 - 19:45: Grand Banquet at the Gallows' End Tavern
- 19:45 - 20:00: Opening of the Ball and lighting of the Wickerman
- 20:01: Grand Promanade to the Undercity Courtyard
- 20:10: Dancing and Refreshments
- 20:45: Pantomime Play
- 21:20: Costume Contest
- 21:45: Announcement of the New Court of Death in the Throne Room
- 22:00: New court open the Fireworks Display in honor of the Dark Lady Sylvanas"
The event is planned for October 30th.
EDIT: And here's what I just discovered, lads'n'lasses! http://www.argentarchives.org/node/34939 This means that Adnaw's taking care of all the advertising, we're guaranteed to have a big crowd out there! And we're taking a big part in this, so start feeling important.
I'll keep you informed by updating this article everytime there's something new and important to announce, so keep your eyes stuck to this text-wall! -
Southshore is burning,
The humans are moaning,
We're killing a long the way!
We're really not sorry,
The sight was so gory,
A merrily bloody day!
We've set limbs a-flying,
And people were dying,
A merrily bloody day!
A merrily bloody,
A merrily bloody,
A merrily bloody day!
And with that, I congratulate thee comrades. Bloodshed for the Baron!
